RESUME
I left a career as a research chemist at International Flavors and Fragrances Inc in New York to pursue my interest in art. In 1968 I moved to Woodstock, New York to study at the then summer home of the Art Student’s League. I drew, I painted, but for more than 20 years sculpture was at the heart of my personal artistic expression. I took a long detour into architectural design, raised a family, and became a nationally recognized dealer of antique oriental rugs. I first discovered handmade paper in 2002 at Belles Artes in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico and have continued gathering papermaking experience at the Women’s Studio Workshop in Rosendale, New York. I feel that I have finally come home. I can now integrate my entire work background into a more natural artistic expression using this wonderful medium. Paper, a practical necessity in our daily lives, has taken on a new significance for me.
